Yoda is a being whose past
is shrouded in mystery, for his home planet, relatives, childhood, and species are all unkown. However, much about him
is known and I have undertaken the task of revealing this knowledge to you.
Yoda is first seen in Star Wars Episode One, The Phantom Menace.
At that time he was a prominent leader of the jedi council. When Obi-Wan Kenobi came to the council to ask if Anakin Skywalker,
the boy he had promised his old master he would train, could be trained as a jedi, Yoda was very reluctant, for he foresaw
evil in the boy's future. However, the rest of the council agreed, thinking he would become a powerful jedi.
Anakin was a powerful jedi, but he began to be more
and more independent of Obi Wan, wishing he wouldn't be so controling, for Emperor Palpatine was subtly poisoning his mind.
But Obi-Wan was being a very good master according to the way of the jedi. It is intended that they be controling, so Obi-Wan
was doing just what he was supposed to.
Also, years ago, there had been an unofficial order to the
beings on the planet of Kamino, to make an army of clones. This was easy for them because it was what they were famous for.
The man they took DNA from to make the clones was named Jango Fett. His son, Bobba Fett, lived with him. But the order
to make this army was still given by someone without the authority to do so. Years later, Obi-Wan, searching for the makers
of a bullet he took out of someone who was shot right before she could tell him something he needed to know, arrived on Kamino,
oblivious to the fact that an army was being cosntructed here for the Republic. But they told him about it, thinking he already
knew. So he found out about this army and informed the Council. The leaders of the Jedi Council, Yoda and Mace Windu, were
very angry. But they had no power over the new Emperor, Emperor Palpatine.
The new Emperor affirmed the order given to make this clone army, so it
was all strictly legitimate now. The Council was frustrated yet powerless over this order, and had no choice but to watch
as what they new would end up as a terrible war begin. Count Dooku took charge of this army, a member of a group of leaders
of rebels against the Republic. They were planning the construction of The Death Star. Yoda tracked him down in the middle
of a large battle and had unqestionably the most skill-displaying lightsaber duel ever to be shown with him. But Dooku, using
the force, made a large boulder start to fall on Obi-Wan and Anakin. Yoda had no choice but to stop it while Dooku escaped.
He, along with his fellows, took charge of this clone army and handed it to the Emperor, who constructed the New Republic.
However, Anakin, growing more and more disobedient, "broke
the last straw" by marrying Padme Amidala, which was strictly forbidden. He overthrew the Jedi council and the last remains
of the Old Republic under the corruptive mind of Emperor Palpatine, becoming second in command in this new Empire. He took
up the name Darth Vader, and, unfortunately for him, forgot all about Yoda and his half jedi son, Luke. He did not forget
about his old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, but he did not think of the old man as much of a threat.
Yoda was among the two jedi to escape him, along with Obi Wan.
Luke Skywalker, son of Anakin and Padme, were abandoned at Anakin, A.K.A. Darth Vader's stepbrother's home. Luke was friends
with Obi-Wan, not knowing he was a jedi or anything about the force. But one day, after seeing a message from a droid called
R2-D2, he began searching for someone named Obi-Wan Kenobi, for he was known to Luke only as Ben. Obi wan revealed to him
his past, and his old lightsaber. Luke mastered the ways of the force and lighsaber quickly, and was told to go to the swamps
of Degobah where, somewhere, The Great Master Yoda still lived.
He finally arrived there, crashing his ship in a mudhole
on the way, which, after becoming assosciated to him, Yoda lifted back to solid ground with the Force. Luke stayed there
for months with Yoda, learning almost everything Yoda could teach him. But, sadly, Yoda died in his hut in Star Wars, Episode
Six, Return of the Jedi. But, because he was such a powerful jedi and was so connected to the Force, he became something of
a ghost, along with Anakin Skywalker, who Luke found was his father right before he died, and Obi Wan Kenobi.
So ends the life-story of The Great Master Yoda. Please hang
